I only have a short announcement to make:
It makes no sense to see the sun come up at different times each day, while the sun is our only measurement of this day. And when we fly too far or move too fast, we have to make time jump back or forth. Our time map is a confused patchwork of timezones and different daylight saving systems.
Therefore, I'd like to propose a more rational order, and announce to you the Circadian Clock. The space between sunrise and sunset will be divided in 12 hours. At night it will rewind those 12 parts in the exact amount of time it takes for the sun to return. These 12 hours will naturally variate in duration over the year when compared to oldfashioned flat timing. So a night in winter will have the same duration as a day in summer. The Circadian clock will always know where it is, and act in accordance to this place. Every point on earth will exist in its own time, in full compliance with its surroundings.
Of course a digital version of the clock will work on GPS, but an analogue built is also possible, as a 3-dimensional globe instead of the flat circle with arrows. A digital version is currently under development.
Thank you.
The proposal as stated during a lecture at the CIVIC VIRTUE exhibition.
